Getting Started

ICAL is one of the four labs that comprises the Montana Nanotechnology Facility at MSU. MONT is one of 16 nodes supported by the National Science Foundation and is a part of the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure.

If you would like to become a user of the ICAL facility under MONT, please send email to Dr. David Dickensheets with a brief description of your project needs. Our team will assign a user liaison as a point of contact with whom you can discuss your project and determine whether MONT is the appropriate facility for you. Your liaison, Recep Avci, can then help you set up a project as a MONT user.

User and Project Registraion

Once you know what facilities you'll be using, the next step is to register as a user. MONT's NSF funding depends on the number of users in the labs, so keeping careful track of our users and limited demographics such as academic rank and disipline is imperative.

PIs must register EACH project utilizing the facilities. Important reporting  and success metics include the types of projects and funding sources that our shared-use facilities support.
