• The phase shift in a series RLC resonant circuit can be observed on an oscilloscope as the input frequency is varied.
  • Oscilloscope display can be projected to the big screen using its VGA output.






        (use Cenco 79750 coil (120 mH) with 0.1 uf cap, 1000 ohm resistor and 1.4 kHz sine wave)


  • Change the wiring slightly to observe the response of a parallel RLC resonant circuit.
  • The parallel circuit has a higher Q.
  • The resonant peak can be observed as an increase in voltage across the capacitor/inductor or as a decrease in current through the resistor.
