Pictures from Around Bozeman

Just outside the Bozeman Public Library

The Bridger Mountains, as seen from the chair lift at Bridger Bowl ski area

The view out my living room window

The Hyalite Resevoir, about 15 miles south of town

The setting sun, reflecting off of one of the Hyalite Mountains

Another sunset, this one taken from my window

I just thought these clouds on the mountain looked neat.

Some more interesting clouds, a little while later.

A field of beautiful dandelions, just outside my apartment

Montana hall, the oldest building on campus

The end of the rainbow

And another one. Notice the secondary bow? Another shot out my window

We get more rainbows out here...

Not that I'm complaining, of course.

And here's another one

And one final one

Pictures from Yellowstone

One of the forests in the Park

Yellowstone Canyon

The Yellowstone River, at the bottom of the canyon

I don't recall whether this is the North Falls or the South Falls

Another picture of the Canyon

The Canyon again; this time as seen from the top of Mt. Washburn

An interesting-looking tree stump I came across

Mammoth Hot Springs

A tree that was growing by the lip of the canyon

Red lupine, one of the wildflowers that grows in the mountains

More lupine, but purple this time

Yet another pic of the Canyon

Do you think I was maybe impressed with Yellowstone Canyon?

My first-ever picture of a predator in the wild!

(in case you couldn't tell, it's a coyote)

Another wildlife picture:  A bighorn sheep atop Mt. Washburn

See? I told you there was a sheep there!

Another member of the same flock

(right there, poking its head above the crest, see?)

Yup, the canyon again...

And again

Another shot of the waterfall seen above

Whattaya know, it's the canyon!

This is the last shot of the canyon, I promise

No, it's not a picture of the canyon, it's a picture of the river at the bottom

Pictures of Kate

On January 31, 2001, Katherine Jane Daugherty was born to my sister Patti and her husband Ed.  Since, of course, she's the absolute cutest baby in the entire world, I thought I'd share some pictures.

Kate with her father.  This picture is one of my favorites.

Me  with Kate.  I'm the one with the glasses.

Another picture of me holding Kate

Me with Kate again.

Kate in the baptismal gown that her grandmother made her.

Opening day, 2001. Can you tell that her parents are both baseball fans?

Isn't she adorable?

Easter, 2001

Pictures of Me

On my first-ever skiing trip, in March 2000

With my Villanova bachelor's degree diploma

Presenting a poster paper at the Summer 1999 meeting of the American Astronomical Society

Down at Yellowstone, next to the canyon

Other Pictures

The barbed-wire sculpture hanging in the atrium of the physics building

The same sculpture, from a different angle

A view of my cubicle.  It's usually not this neat.

Mithra, the computer I'm using for my research this summer and last

The 500 CD jukebox that used to hold the data I was using.  Now we have a 4 Ter hard drive.

Except for the pictures of Kate (most of which were by my sister) and, of course, the ones of me, I took all of these myself.  Personally, I'm a bit proud of them, but of course, I can't take all the credit.  It certainly helps to live in one of the most beautiful areas of the country.

I've finally gotten my scanner working again, so expect to see this page updated every so often as I develop more film.
