Workshop Supervisor |
The workshop supervisor is responsible for:
- Managing the Physics Department machine shop
- Designing, fabricating, and modifying custom mechanical laboratory equipment
- Provides computer aided design (CAD) expertise in Solidworks and Autocad software
- Provides basic machine shop training
- Maintaining and repairing machine shop equipment and mechanical laboratory equipment
- Scheduling machine access time
- Supervising researchers and students while using the shop facilities
- Maintaining an inventory of materials, fasteners, and hardware used by the physics department
