Abstract:
Electric propulsion research for interplanetary spaceflight will be discussed. Basic concepts and a brief review of electric propulsion research will be presented. This will be followed by a more detailed look at the VASIMR Project at NASA JSC (VASIMR = VAriable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rocket).
