Title:
"In search of the ‘absolute’ optical phase"
Abstract:
Modelocked lasers have recently enabled access to a new parameter in
ultrafast optics - the "absolute" phase. I'll discuss the properties of
modelocked lasers that allow the "absolute" phase to be observed, the
importance of this parameter, and one of several methods currently being
pursued to measure and control it. This method involves quantum
interference of injected photocurrents in semiconductors.
