Suzie, Damon, Keith, Cameron and friends hike to Lava Lake in the Spanish Peaks. The cannon ballers shot was right after our little cannon balling contest jumping into the lake.
Ezana Negusse travelled to the National Synchrotron light source to conduct experiments.

Yves Idzerda, Adam McClure, Alex Lussier, and Damon Resnick presented at the Northwest Section of the APS meeting in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
Yves Idzerda has been selected to receive this year's College of Letters and Science Dean's Award for Meritorious Research.
Keith Gilmore has been selected to attend the 2005 meeting of Nobel Laureates in Lindau, Germany.
Alex Lussier published an article in Physica Scripta.

Yves Idzerda, Keith Gilmore, Alexandre Lussier, Ezana Negusse, Damon Resnick, Jonathon Holroyd, and Joe Dvorak attended the 49th Conference on Magnetism and Magnetic Materialsin Jacksonville, Fl. Most group members presented papers at the conference and Alexandre was one of five finalists for the best student presentation award.
Yves Idzerda, Keith Gilmore, Alexandre Lussier, Ezana Negusse, and Damon Resnick attended the Gordon Research Conference on magnetic nanostructures held in Big Sky, Montana. All presented posters for this conference.
Keith Gilmore and Alex Lussier attended (and presented) at the APS March Meeting in Montreal, Canada.
Yves Idzerda and Alex Lussier attended the 31st conference on the Physics and Chemistry of Semiconductor Interfaces in Kona, Hawaii. Both contributed with a talk and poster presentation.
All group members attended the MMM/Intermag Conference in Anaheim, California, where most contributed as speakers or poster presenters.
Yves Idzerda and Alex Lussier attended the 12thXAFS conference in Malmo Sweden from June 23 to June 28. Alex presented a poster. They took advantage of their time there to rent bikes to visit the countryside and spend a day sightseeing in Copenhagen.Here are a few pictures.
New Year 2003

Yves Idzerda, Ezana Negusse, Johnathon Holroyd, Alexandre Lussier, and Damon Resnick travelled to Tampa, Florida for the 47th Magnetism and Magnetic Materials conference. Yves gave an invited talk on concucting experiments at national laboratory facilities. Alex gave a contributed talk and Johnathon and Damon gave poster presentations.
Yves Idzerda, Johnathon Holroyd, Alexandre Lussier, Damon Resnick, Ezana Negusse, Thomas Stolz, and Thorsten Schiffer travelled to the National Synchrotron Light Source at Brookhaven National Labs in Upton, NY to conduct experiments.
Yves Idzerda, Johnathon Holroyd, Damon Resnick and Sara Maccagnano travelled to Banff, Alberta, Canada for the Northwest APS conference. Sara received honors for the best student presentation and Damon for the best poster presentation of the conference.
Yves Idzerda and Alexandre Lussier travelled to Santa Fe, New Mexico for the Physics and Chemistry of Semiconductor Interfaces (PCSI) conference. Yves chaired a session and Alex gave a contributed talk/poster. Yves will be the general chair for the 2004 PCSI conference.
