NSF-funded Channeling Target Chamber

Facilities include: 100 mm hemispherical electrostatic analyzer used for XPS and ISS;
rear-view LEED; precision goniometer and solid-state detector for channeling; x-ray source; ion gun;
residual gas analyzer; metal evaporation sources and gas handling manifold. Differential pumping
along the beamline provides a 1 mm diameter beam of up to 150 nA on the target in UHV.
