Welcome to the Image and Chemical Analysis Laboratory at Montana State University, Department of Physics. ICAL MSU was established in order to promote interdisciplinary collaboration in research, education, and industry, and to strengthen existing cooperation between the physical, biological, and engineering sciences by providing critically needed analytical facilities. These facilities are open to both academic researchers and the general public. At present we have seven complimentary microanalytical systems:

Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)

Auger Scanning Electron Microprobe (Auger)

Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM)

Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)

Time of Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer (SIMS)

Small-Spot X-ray Photoelectron Spectrometer (XPS)

X-Ray Powder Diffraction Spectrometer (XRD)
