This committee has been doing a great deal of work. The are assessing ALL classrooms on campus, categorizing things such as condition, heating and ventilation, noise levels, furniture condition, and available technology. This leads to a list of rooms that are seriously in need of renovation. At this meeting, a ranked list of small, medium, and large rooms was made. The cost to renovate each category is different, of course. Depending on how much money is available, they will try to renovate a small number of rooms - probably 3-6.

John,  I logged in successfully, so this is really just a test.  However, it would be interesting to faculty to know what classrooms are on the needy list and how one gets requests on the list.

Today the Classroom Committee met to discuss the renovation of some classrooms during the summer of 2011. They received notification from the President that $220 k will be available for renovating existing classrooms. ASMSU will also be contributing funds, which brings the total to $370 k. While this sounds like a lot, renovating Reid 108 cost $500 k.

This committee has been categorizing the status of all classrooms on campus in order to determine which are most in need of renovation. An update was given, and a handful of the most needy rooms were described in detail. From this list, a selection of rooms was identified.
