6C20.20  THIN WIRE DIFFRACTION

  • A divergent laser beam forms a diffraction pattern after passing a thin wire.
  • Wire sizes include: 0.12, 0.16, 0.20, 0.26 mm.
  • Can be projected on to a screen or whiteboard.
  • The pattern will be visible from 1/2 m and beyond.
  • A slide mount with tape is available for attaching hair or other thin items.

  • View seen by students in darkened room.

(put laser at end of optics bench, front end should be at ~380 mm)
(make divergent beam with 18 mm lens at 440 mm, aperture at 460 mm, 252 mm lens at ~520 mm)
        (put pinhole at ~552 mm)
