- A metal ring placed around the core of a vertical
transformer is propelled skyward when the transformer is energized.
- The height reached can vary from zero, to a few centimeters
(levitation), to several feet by changing the transformer voltage, or
the type, temperature or geometry of the ring.
- Liquid nitrogen (optional) can be used to change the
temperature of a ring.
