  • A magnet moving through a coil causes a deflection in a galvanometer.
  • Keep magnet away from other magnets.
  • The meter movement can be damaged by moving the magnet too quickly.

  • Version 2
  • Rotating a coil of wire between the poles of a magnet causes a deflection in a galvanometer.
  • Increasing or decreasing the size of the coil also causes a deflection.
  • Keep magnet at least 1/2 m away from all other ferromagnetic materials.
