Instructions for using audio files (podcasts)
Note: These files are fairly large (~ 10 MB). It is suggested that you attempt downloading only with a fast connection (not dialup).
The podcasts will be posted on a website external to WebCT http://www.physics.montana.edu/classes/212/podcast/PHYS212Podcast.html.
Click on the file to download to your computer, just as you download pdf files.
These files are in mp3 format, the same as most music files.
You can listen to them with any mp3 player, or on your computer using programs such as ITunes, Real Player, Quick Time, and probably many others.
Once you get the file on your computer, it may start playing right away (depends on how your web browser is set up). If not, you can double click on the file to get it to play, or drag it into your mp3 program. If using a mp3 player, you should be able to drag the file to it as well via ITunes or whatever other program you use to manage your music files there.
On my notebook, the sound is not very good unless earphones are used.
Finally, I stress that your use of these recordings is not required. My intention is not to add to your workload, but rather to make the lecture notes more useful and complete.
